Roy Albert Beyer, 84, of Marinette, Wis., passed away on January 30, 2014, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis. He was born in Menominee, Mich. on May 9, 1929, to the late Arthur and Aurora (Holappa) Beyer.
He married Carryll Rawlings on June 2, 1951, in Marinette. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2002. Roy worked at the former Ansul Company in Marinette for 44 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked as a custodian of Bethel Luthern Church for 26 years, where he cared for it as his home. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the United Methodist Church Men's Group. Roy's greatest hobby was his family and friends.
Roy is survived by two sons: Roger (Noel) Beyer of Lombard, Ill. and Rev. William (Karla) Beyer of Fort Atkinson, Wis; his daughter, Liane (Glenn) Callow of Menominee, Mich.; six grandchildren: Rev. Tim Callow, Nick, Allison and Garrett Beyer and Philip and Jensine Beyer; two sisters: Carol (Leonard) Bassen of Menominee, Mich. and Dorothy Perkins of Marinette, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and his wife, Roy was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly Ann Beyer; one brother, Clifford Beyer; and three sisters: Mildred Behrens, Myrtle Varvil and Ruth Rewolinski. Friends may call at Bethel Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 5 p.m. with Rev. Scott Ehle officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich. Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rescue Squad, the Salvation Army, or Bethel Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Kellner, the staffs at BAMC, the Luther Home and Northland Village for all their compassionate care over the years.
