Roland "Rollie" Demeuse

Roland "Rollie" Demeuse, 86, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the V.A. Hospital in Iron Mountain, Mich. Rollie was born on January 8, 1928, in Sheboygan, Wis. to the late Clifford and Lillian (Fuhrman) Demeuse.
Rollie proudly served his Country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II serving in the Berlin Airlift. On July 21, 1951, Rollie married the former Ruth Jandt. Ruth preceded him in death on August 11, 1997. On May 11, 1998, Rollie married the former Harriet Bergfeldt at Resurrection Catholic Church. Rollie enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling with his friends and spending time at his camp "Devil's Crik Lodge" with family and friends. Rollie further enjoyed and took great pride in his yard and vegetable garden. Traveling and seeing other parts of the country was also things he enjoyed. Rollie was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, past member of the Masonic Lodge, Life member of American Legion Post # 146, VFW Post #1887, and DAV Menominee County Chapter #25, serving as Chaplin of all three veteran organizations. He was also an active member of North Shore Golf Club, and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Rollie was active in Boy Scouts Troop #78. He was a very passionate and loyal supporter of Menominee Maroon sport teams, and also a very loyal follower of the U of M Wolverines. Rollie worked as a construction mechanic for the Ansul Company for 20 years retiring in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet of Menominee, Mich; sons: Randy Demeuse of Menominee, Mich., and Rick (Kim) Demeuse of Pulaski, Wis.; two grandchildren: Nicole (Steve) Kunick of Marinette, Wis., and Danielle Demeuse of Beloit, Wis.; two great-grandchildren: Madison and Kylie; sister, Marie (John) MacDonald of Medford, Mass. and his canine friend, Farley. Rollie was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Kozack.
Family and friends may call at Anderson Kell Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2014, after 4 p.m. until time of Veteran Service at 6 p.m. followed by Parish Prayer Service. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Michael Ocran officiating at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery in the spring with Military Honors.
