Robert J. Mittag, 73, of Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born on June 17, 1939, to the late Robert E. and Pauline (Erickson) Mittag in Marinette.
Robert graduated from Marinette High School in 1957. On August 29, 1959, Robert married Patricia Weber at St. Joseph's Church. He had worked as an Assistant Manager at the A&P Grocery Store in Iron River, Mich. and then at Scott Paper Co for 34 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring, Bob worked with Marinette County Elderly Services, delivering meals on wheels and then Taxi Inc. for over 10 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and enjoyed nature, feeding birds, taking photos and loved spending time with his nine grandchildren and great-grandson.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat; four sons and their families: Edward (Janette) Mittag of Franklin and their two daughters: Michelle (Derek) Bollig, their son, Bennett of Glendale, and Lindsay Mittag of Kansas City, Mo.; Daniel (Elizabeth) Mittag and their children: Jacob and Madeline; Brian (Amy) Mittag and their children: Mitchell, Cal and Anna; and Andrew (Traci) and their children, Sarah and Erin, all of Green Bay. He is further survived by a sister, Carole (Steven) England of Wyoming, Minn.; brothers-in-law: Richard Yenchesky of Wallace and Wayne (Joyce) Weber of Oceanside, Calif., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters,: Patricia and Karen.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 28th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Thielen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating.
