Robert "Bob" Ranallo Sr., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Born on March 26, 1939 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Albrecht) Ranallo.
Bob attended Steinmetz High in Chicago and then was given the opportunity to tryout for the 1956 Pittsburgh Pirates in which he was successful in making the final cut.
He was married to Diane Ratajczak on March 31, 1973. He worked various occupations and ultimately retired from S & W Oil in Coleman as a delivery driver. His most recent employment was with Wausaukee Enterprises where he enjoyed driving for special needs individuals. He was a member of the Wausaukee Lions Club and named the "Lion of the Year" for 2011-2012. Active in local affairs, he served his community as a Supervisor for the Town of Wausaukee Board for many years. He loved Ranger Basketball and devoted his time with countless events and fundraisers. He had a passion for playing the game and was a ballplayer for the North Country Codgers. Many other interests included card games, bowling, pursuing the "big fish" and had been known to scratch off a few tickets. He was an avid Chicago sports fan with the exception of that bleached named baseball team. Go Cubs! But most of all he enjoyed being with his beloved wife "Babe" and devoted family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Diane; three children: Robert Ranallo Jr. of Twin Bridge, Lori (Keith Kralovetz) Ranallo of Twin Bridge and John (Toshia) Ranallo of Wausaukee; eight grandchildren: Robert, Nicholas, Quentin, Jeremy, Alexis, Jason, Quade and Quest; two great-grandchildren: Connor, and Allison; siblings: Larry Ranallo, Arlene Peters, Jack (Donna) Ranallo, Shirley (Joesph Greger) Baggio, and Linda (Jimmy Rossolille; and special family friend, Chris Williams.
