Richard Edmund Doubek, 83, of Menominee, Mich., passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the Luther Home in Marinette, Wis. He was born on September 6, 1929, in Menominee, Mich. to the late James and Marcella (Rowe) Doubek.
Richard graduated from Menominee High School class of 1947. He married the former Joyce Brown on September 16, 1950. Richard worked at Menominee Paper for over 47 years, retiring in 1994. In addition he also worked with Servicemaster for several years. Richard was a member of Resurrection Parish in Menominee. He also was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a past member of the Kiwanis, the BAMC Hospital Auxiliary, the Men's Club at Resurrection Parish and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Richard and Joyce spent winters in Florida, he liked to go camping, he enjoyed spending time with his family and he was a handyman that could do most anything. He was a huge sports fan and listened to all local teams as well as the Packers and Brewers.
  Richard is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of  over 62 years; two daughters: Angela (Timothy) Tebby of Marquette, Mich. and Donna (Mark) Ostrenga of Menominee, Mich; five sons: David (Debra) of Menominee, Mich., Michael (Carol) of Pensacola, Fla., Patrick (Deb) of Porterfield, Wis., Thomas (Barbara) of Rockford, Ill. and Joel (Angela) of Menominee, Mich. He is further survived by fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Merle Doubek of Mesa, Ariz. and John (Lynda) Doubek of Menominee, Mich. and many other family members and friends. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters: Avis Fazer and Fern Behnke.
Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Richard Edmund Doubek on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish in Menominee with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich.
  A memorial fund has been established in Richard's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to a family member.
