Richard "Dick" B. Lund

Richard "Dick" B. Lund, 65, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was born in Menominee on March 25, 1947, to the late Stanley and Patricia (Roosen Lund-Faller) Lund. Dick graduated from Menominee High School class of 1965 and he also graduated from St. Norbert College in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Dick was the Owner and Operator of Lund Hardware & Supply Co. from 1973-1993, retiring in 1994. He was an active member of the community including 8 year Commissioner (1970's) of Menominee Pop Warner Football, 1975 Menominee Jaycees "Outstanding Young Man", he was a Big Brother for 7 years and continued to do that type of work on his own for another 20 years and Dick was a 26 year Volunteer Staff Member of the D.A.R. Boys & Girls Club, serving 15 years on their Board of Directors and a past president of the organization. His hobbies included working with the youth, fishing, computers and video games, model railroading and his passion was photography and the informative website he created about the past and present Great Lakes Ships.
Dick is survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Clark) Charnetski of Ann Arbor, Mich.; his nephew, Brian (Angela) Charnetski and their children: Kelsey and Griffin; he is further survived by his step-sisters and step-brothers: Kathy Faller, Mary Ellen (James) Biehl, Tom (Ann) Faller and Gerard (Cecile) Faller and very special friends: Dick and Judy Podraza, Rick Kadlubowski, Ron and Rosalie Kadlubowski and Peter Noppenberg. Dick was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Patricia; and his step-father, George Faller.
A Celebration of Dick's Life will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with prayers at 2:30 p.m. Deacon Steve Gretzinger will officiate.
Dick's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rennes Health Center-East and Heartland Hospice for the extraordinary care they provided.
