Richard Barnett (Dick) Peterson, 83, of Marinette, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018.  He was born March 14, 1935, in Marinette, son of the late Edwin and Mary Elizabeth (Peg) Peterson.
    Dick graduated from Marinette High School where he played basketball and track, setting a state record in hurdles. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a veteran of the United States Army. A former long-term resident of Lansing, Mich., and Atlanta, Ga., Dick returned to Marinette with his wife Anne Linder Peterson, a native of Atlanta, in 2000.
    Dick is survived by Anne, his wife of 36 years; his son, Eric and wife, Laura, of Boston, Mass.; his daughter, Kristen, of Santa Fe, N.M.; niece, Betsy (Kaiser) Hyde; and nephew, James Kaiser. He is predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ruth (Oakwood) Peterson; and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Kaiser of Louisville Ky.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marinette. The Rev. Glenn Kanestrom will officiate.
    Dick’s ashes will be interred in the columbarium at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marinette.
