Richard Anthony Sonntag, 71, passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. He was born August 22, 1942 in Menominee.
He was an original "Yooper". He graduated from Menominee High School in 1960, was a member of the Northernaires from 1956-1960. He was known as "Rick Anthony" for WAGN Radio. He settled in San Antonio Texas and retired from Fort Sam Houston as the voice of the Army Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Clelia "CB" Sonntag; his daughter and son-in-law: Heather and Michael Brown; and his two grandsons: Brandon (13) and Dylan (10); and an aunt, Dorothy Linczeski; and six cousins; as well as Clelia's brothers: Coe, Clair, and Phil Branch and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Agnes Sonntag; many aunts and uncles; and his dog "Toby". His contributions to his church and family will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Coker United Methodist Church, 231 E North Loop Road, San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 10 a.m.
