Phyllis Heil, 73, of Marinette, Wis., passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at home. She was born on October 17, 1937, to George and Leona (Goldschmidt) Peot in Marinette.
Phyllis graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1956. On December 29, 1956, she married Charles Heil in Marinette. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2000. She had worked for Marinette General Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the BAMC Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, antique furniture refinishing, bird watching, baking, and cooking.
Phyllis is survived by her mother, Leona Berg of Marinette; eight children: Ann (Jim) Rose of Washington Island, Wis., Joe of Green Bay, Wis., Tim (Sue Nielsen) of Marinette, Wis., Charles Jr. of Green Bay, Wis., Marc of Marinette, Wis., Jamie of Marinette, Wis., Amy (Gregg) Irwin of Marinette, Wis., and Patrick (Emilie Dieck) of De Pere, Wis. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jack and Luc Rose; Abby and Max Heil; Jenny and Ray Ip and children: Rachael and Ray Jr; Jessie; Jake Gamelin and Cassie Hilbert; Charles III and Tricia and children: Sol and Charles IV; Jeremy and Whitney and daughter, Mariah; Justin and Christina; Catie Dobbins and daughter, Malia; Jenny, Kristen, Abby, and Isabelle Irwin. She is further survived by her brother, David (Kathy) Peot of Easley, S.C.; sister, Sharon (Tom) Neumann of Escanaba, Mich.; sister-in-law, Letty Berg of Marinette, Wis.; brother, Greg Berg of Denver, Colo.; sister-in-law, Rita Berg of New London, Wis.; brother, Chris (Cherri) Berg of Appleton, Wis.; brother-in-law, Ray Kamps of New London, Wis.; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Dick) Eisner of Menasha, Wis.; and sister-in-law, Peggy Radtke of Marinette, Wis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her devoted dog, Mazi. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles. She was also preceeded in death by her father, George Peot; mother and father-in-law, Mabel and Albert Heil; brother-in-law, Paul Radtke and siblings: Beverly Kamps, Einar and Judy Berg, Tom Berg, Rodney Berg; and nephew, Einar Berg Jr.
  Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday December 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. with Deacon Bruce Corey officiating.
