Nora E. Salewsky

Nora E. Salewsky, 85 of Wallace, Mich., passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. The former Nora Ellen Buckley was born on June 3, 1927, in Chicago, Ill. to the late AJ and Nora Sue (Brandon) Buckley.
On August 24, 1946, Nora married Lloyd C. Salewsky in Marinette, Wis. In the early years of their marriage, Nora enjoyed working alongside her husband on the family farm. Nora also worked as a nurse's aide at St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital in Menominee for five years and later worked as a parts inspector at L.E. Jones from 1972 until retiring in 1988. Nora was an avid reader, owning a library of books. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, baking and cooking. Nora further enjoyed traveling the country to visit family and also enjoyed the 10 years she and Lloyd spent wintering in Florida. Most importantly Nora loved her family and made it a point to be very active in their lives. Nora was a member of Community Covenant Church.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lloyd of Wallace, Mich.; children: Lloyd John (Chloe) Salewsky of Menominee, Mich., Lynda (David) Krozell of Menominee, Mich., Dale C. (Cindy) Salewsky of Howell, Mich. and Judy (Bob) Ackerman of Menominee, Mich.; seven grandsons: Brandon (Jesse) Salewsky, Marty (Amy) Krozell, Michael (Torie) Krozell, Nicholas, Jeremy, and Josh Salewsky and Benjamin Ackerman; nine great-grandchildren: Zachary, Conner, Jayden, Chase, Alexus, Taya, Anika Nora, Christian and Skyleigh; and sister, Erma Kushman of Peshtigo, Wis. Nora was preceded in death by her grandson, SSG Mark Daniel Ackerman; two sisters: Ida and Ada; and four brothers: Arnold, D. Benjamin, Aaron and Maron.
Family and friends may call at Community Covenant Church, Menominee, Mich. on Monday, May 13, 2013, after 4 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 6 p.m. Pastor Tom Lach officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
