Nicholas Harold Kohel, 65, passed away October 24, 2013 at home in Laughlin, NV after a 17-month battle with cancer. He was born February 29, 1948.
Nick grew up in Menominee, MI and graduated from Menominee High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam for 18 months from 1968-1969. He worked in Florida as a heavy equipment operator, then moved to Colorado and retired from TARCO Construction in February 2010 and was now living in Laughlin, NV. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid card player.
Nick is survived by Lisa Whittaker, of Laughlin, NV (significant other and caregiver); two sisters: Linda (Brad) Smiley of Denver, CO and Denise Ruleau, Marinette, WI and one brother, Richard (Jill) Kohel, Menominee, MI and one aunt, Doris Spaude of Menominee, MI and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorraine Kohel.
Per his wishes, there will be no services held.
