Mary Jicha Connaher, 83, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1930, in Middle Inlet, Wis. to the late Emil and Lucille (Boullion) Jicha. Mary married Douglas Connaher on October 23, 1951, in Menominee. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1998.
Mary was a member of Resurrection Parish in Menominee and the VFW Auxiliary. She liked to crochet, go camping and she enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen (Peter) Sunstrom of Athelstane, Wis.; two sons: Michael Connaher of Marinette, Wis. and Mark (Paula) Connaher of Menominee, Mich.; six grandchildren: including Becky Ewert, Mary (Rick) Johnson, Angie (Mike) Kudick, Brandon (Ashley) Connaher, Misty Connaher and Tanya Connaher; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five sisters: Evelyn Nowak, Ann Vogeltanz, Dorothy (Hank) Perry, Velma Kowalski and Elaine (Donald) Olson; five brothers: George (Marie) Jicha, Clarence Jicha, Edward (Bertha) Jicha, Roger (Ruth) Jicha and Robert (Jean) Jicha; and many other family members and friends. Along with her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home, TODAY, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 6 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. In addition, visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, August 1, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Mary Connaher on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish in Menominee with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich.
