Marion M. Krueger

Marion M. Krueger, 88, formerly of Marinette, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at the New London Family Medical Center. She was cared for by St. Joseph Residence in New London, Wis. for the past five years. She was born June 16, 1924, in Marinette to Cortland and Martha (Splinter) Lohff.
Marion resided in Marinette for most of her life and was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1942. During World War II, she worked at the Van Domelen Motor Works. Later, she was employed as receptionist for the Scott Paper Company, and was selected as Snow Queen at Marinette's Winter Festival, an event sponsored by the company. In September 1952, she married William Krueger of Marinette. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and for many years tended to communion and the chapel altar. She sold Watkins products from her home and was last employed by the Luther Home. She pursued many interests, which included cooking, baking, sewing, needlework, crafts, playing piano and travel. She enjoyed taking pictures and was a dedicated gardener, quite possibly ahead of her time in developing sustainable resources. She took great pleasure in sharing her fruits with friends and neighbors. She was an accomplished vocalist, singing in the church choir and as a soloist. She enjoyed the arts, and appeared in many Theatre on the Bay productions.
Marion is survived by three children: Carol (Mike) Lemke of Menominee, Jim (Kristin) Krueger of Big Lake, Minn. and Diane (Scott) Wilson of New London, Wis.; eight grandchildren: Christine (Scott) McPherson, Jennifer Lemke, Matthew (Melissa) Lemke and Jeffrey (Mary) Lemke, Collin and Emily Krueger, Jerod Wilson and Michal (Kevin) Koutnik; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Pat Lohff and Alice Lohff; niece, Christine Jeseritz and nephews: Mike, Pete, Cortland and Tom Lohff. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Glenn Lohff and John Lohff.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette after 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Mackay officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
