Margaret F. Gansebom, 98, of Marinette, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Luther Home in Marinette. She was born in Milwaukee on September 28, 1914, to the late Fred and Margaret (Steinbach) Keller.
Margaret was married to Henry E. Gansebom in Milwaukee, Wis. where they farmed for a good many years. Henry preceded her in death on November 11, 1971. Margaret was a seamstress doing all the alterations at American Dry Cleaners in Butler, Wis. for 35 years, retiring at the age of 90. She was an avid bowler, still bowling on 3 leagues until up in her late 80's. She also enjoyed gambling, ceramics and traveling.
Margaret is survived by a son, Ray (Merri) Gansebom, of Peshtigo; a daughter, Margaret (Pete) Fleisner, of Menominee Falls, Wis.; five grandchildren: Eric M. Gansebom, of Minneapolis, Minn., Neil R. (Sam) Gansebom, of Lafayette, Colo., Lucy E. Gansebom, of Des Moines, Iowa, Brian Fleisner of Anoka, Minn., and Scott Fleisner of Menominee Falls, Wis.; two great-grandchildren: Haley Fleisner and Bryce Fleisner of Anoka, Minn. and a great-granddaughter to be born in August. Besides her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Peshtigo, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Ralph Merkatoris officiating.
Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wis.
Ray and Merri would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Luther Home and Dr. Michael Post and his staff for their compassionate care given to Margaret these last years. A thank you also to Heartland Hospice for their supportive and comforting care during her final phase of life.
