Lydia Alice Ottensman, 100, of Menominee, Mich. formerly of Talbot, Mich. passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, in Fort Meyers, Fla. The former Lydia Hoffman was born November 24, 1913, in Toledo, Ohio to Herman and Anna Marie (Hienrich) Hoffmann.
Lydia married John B. Anderson June 30, 1934, he preceded her in death January 29, 1964. On November 23, 1968 Lydia married James E. Anderson, he preceded her in death April 8, 1977. Lydia then married Alfred Ottensman September 30, 1978, and Alfred preceded her in death January 27, 2004. Lydia was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Menominee and years ago was a very active member of the Daggett Moravian Church. She loved reading, knitting, and life. Lydia enjoyed visiting with her friends of all ages.
Survivors include daughters: Iris (Charles) Harmke of Rolling Meadows, Ill., Ethel (Ronald) Dudley of Swansboro, N.C., Sarah (Gene) LeRoy of Menominee, Mich.; son, Roger (Gayle) Anderson of Ludington, Mich.; sister, Magdalene Hall of Stephenson, Mich.; step-daughters: Barbara Snow of Hartford, Wis., Mary (Ken) Meyer of Manitowoc, Wis.; daughters-in-law: Shirley O'Donnell of Escanaba, Mich., Pam Anderson of Tucson, Ariz. Lydia was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John Anderson; stepson, Jim Ottensman; four sisters, and four brothers.
Friends may call at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson, Mich., on Tuesday January 28, 2014, after 1 p.m. until the service hour at 3 p.m. Reverend Jim Matthews officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Oakwood, Mich. in the spring.
