Lorraine Helen (Langer) Sorensen, 83, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. She was born on December 8, 1930, in Marinette, Wis., daughter of the late Paul and Ethel (Johnson) Langer. 
Lorraine attended Lady of Lourdes High School, graduating in 1949. After going on to college, she married Don Sorensen on December 6, 1952, in Lake Elsinore, Calif., and spent more than 61 wonderful years together. Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for many years for both Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, and HCR Manor Care Nursing Home. She has been a resident of the area since 1960. In her free time she enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing cards, dominos, and traveling. Her true love in life was spending time with her family, visiting, and playing cards.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Don Sorensen of Iron Mountain; her children: Greg (Lori) Sorensen of Iron Mountain, Richard Sorensen (Darcy) of Randville, Jeffrey Sorensen of Lady Lake, Fla., Barbara (Robert) Peterson of Stephenson and Jayne (Albin) Sharka of Green Bay, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Margaret Christainsen and Paula Englund, both of Menominee, Mich. Proceeded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate. 
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
