Lorraine E. Theis, 83, of Menominee, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the Luther Home following her battle with cancer. She was born on April 11, 1930, to the late Ray and Anne (LaSalle) Hebert in Menominee. She attended grade school in Omaha and then in Menominee.
On November 28, 1953, Lorraine married Raymond Theis at St. Anne's Church in Menominee. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2008. She had worked at Rydahl's for 20 years and at Saranac for 15 years. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, especially: smear, pinochle, and Liverpool. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading, and sewing, especially children's clothes. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Michael Theis of Irving, Texas; daughter, Veronica Theis of Menominee; sister, Flora "Dixie" Anderla of Menominee; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Hebert of Menominee and Grace Kobyoleski of Cleveland. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Hebert and a sister, Muriel Becker.
Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 3 p.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Menominee.
