Lorna M. Techmeier, 78, of Marinette, has ascended to Heaven with other loved ones on Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born Lorna Mae Schroeder, February 5, 1935, in the Town of Grover to Olive and Ferdinand Schroeder.
Lorna was a graduate of the Peshtigo High School Class of 1953. She married Lavern "Beans" Techmeier, October 23, 1954, in Grover. She started her years of employment at the Colonial Club & Café in Peshtigo. She then went to work at Peshtigo National Bank for a number of years. After moving to Marinette, she worked at St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital in Menominee through the merger and finished her employment at Bay Area Medical Center until her retirement. She was an avid bowler, loved to crochet and was always up to a game of cards with family and friends. She loved to watch the perennials spring to life, as they were all planted by her family for her to enjoy. She especially enjoyed the yearly family picnics in July and never missed one. Family was everything to her and it shows in her 10 children, five special nieces and nephews, and many, many others throughout the years, that also called her Mom.
Lorna is survived by the best brother in the world, Emil Schroeder of Pound; 10 children: Betty (Paul) Nyberg of Menominee, Mark (Cathy) Techmeier of Cary, North Carolina, Joe Techmeier of Marinette, Diane (Mike) Fritz of Peshtigo, Gloria (Bill) Kuhnlein of Menominee, Cindy Deschaine of Marinette, Al (Linda) Techmeier of DePere, Wis., Tom (Karen) Techmeier of Marinette, John (Karyn) Techmeier of DePere, Wis., and Faye Techmeier of Marinette, Wis. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren: Stefanie (Jim) and Allen (Kristin); Andy, Marissa and Jessica; Nick, Jenny and Kristen (James); Melissa (Chris) and Ben (Betsy); Tony (Gabby) and Amanda (Danielle); Sara and Jacob; Rachel, Derek (Tami), Ryan and Kayla; Whitney (Jeremy) and Josh; Zach and Kolton; and 14 great-grandchildren: Landon, Hannah, Hailie, Ethan, Elizabeth, Megan, Hailie, Billy, Anden, Lily, Grace, Trenton, Madison, Mariah. She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Schroeder; and son-in-law, Rory Deschaine.
