Laura Lynn Nowakowski, 40, Suamico, went to her Lord, Wednesday, February 27, 2013. She was born March 5, 1972, in Menominee Falls to Roger and Mary Lou (Huebscher) Koehn.
Laura graduated in 1990, from Westwood High School in Ishpeming, Mich. She continued on to Northern Michigan University, graduating in 1994, with a degree in Elementary Education. On August 26, 1995, Laura married Christopher Michael Nowakowski at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She worked as a teacher in Beloit and a substitute teacher for the Howard-Suamico School District. Laura was also a Sunday School teacher for Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, was active in the HSSB Swim Club, and President of the Lineville-Bay View PTO. She was very active and enjoyed camping, cross country skiing, biking and gardening. Laura was a very devoted wife and mother and especially loved spending time with her family.
Laura is survived by her husband, Christopher; her children: Christyna Michelle and Patrick Jerald Nowakowski; her parents, Roger and Mary Lou Koehn; her siblings: Dan (Dena) Koehn, Diane (Chris) Martin; her parents-in-law, Gerald and Donna Nowakowski; her sisters-in-law and their spouses: Vicki (Chris) Behrend, Lisa (Mark) Behnke; her nieces and nephews: Derek, Delia, Philip, Ryan, Corinn, Crystal, Breanna, Ryan, Will; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Lou Huebscher, Robert and Ellen Koehn; and her Godmother, Sharon Koehn.
Friends may call at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2460 Mount Olive Drive, Suamico, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 4. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit a scholarship for a future educator.
