Karin K. Hamrin-Sheldon, 59, of Menominee, passed away unexpectedly at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born on March 2, 1955 in Escanaba, Mich., the daughter of Reverend Reynold and Marjorie (Tanner) Hamrin.
After graduating from high school, Karin attended nursing school in Peoria, Ill., and enjoyed working as an LPN for 15 years. She married Donald Sheldon Sr. on October 16, 1994, at a ceremony in Escanaba. Karin enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing Bingo was a favorite pastime.
Karin is survived by her husband, Donald Sr.; sons: Alexander Keel and Christopher (Rebecca Gimbel) Hensley; daughters: Mary (David Hoffman) Keel and Marjorie (Alonzo Glover Jr.) Hensley; stepson, Donald (Anita) Sheldon Jr.; 25 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, David (Christine) Hamrin; and a sister, Pamela Swain. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. (est), at the Calvary Baptist Church in Escanaba, Mich., with Rev. Brian Swillam officiating.
