Julie Kay (Olson) Schahczinski, 57, of Red Wing Minn., died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born on April 8, 1956, in Menominee, Mich., to Ottar and Kathleen (Callow) Olson, graduated from Menominee High School in 1974 and attended Michigan State University. On January 8, 1977, she married John Schahczinski of Marinette, Wis. and after living in Menominee, Appleton and Milwaukee, settled in Red Wing, Minn. in 1998.
Julie was a beloved wife to her husband, John; loving mother to her son, Jared (Miranda) Schahczinski of Red Wing; an adoring grandmother to Alexis; cherished sister to Karen McCord of Wauwatosa, Wis. and her brothers: Jim (Jean) Olson of Panama City, Fla. and Chris (Laura) Olson of Okemos, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ottar and Kathleen Olson.
Julie will be lovingly remembered for her warm and compassionate nature, her fun and mischievous sense of humor, her great love for her family and friends including the three 4-legged companions that shared her life. She was co-creator (with John) of the great "Tessie Voice" that ingeniously & lovingly found its way into many conversations. Julie, we will dearly miss your presence in our lives, and the joy you brought to all of us who were blessed to have your life touch ours.  You will live on in our hearts - always.
A church service celebrating Julie's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 601 10th Avenue in Menominee with a luncheon to follow immediately afterwards in the church basement. Visitation with family will take place prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
