Julia "Judy" N. Jeske

Julia "Judy" N. Jeske, 91, Stiles Jct., died peacefully Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013 at Sharpe Care surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 15, 1921, in Potomac, Ill. to Clinton and Edna (Henry) Judy.
As a baby, she moved with her family to the Wausaukee area where her father could farm. The family eventually settled in the Marinette-Peshtigo area where she graduated from Peshtigo High School with the class of 1939. Following graduation from high school, she attended Marinette Normal where she received her teaching certificate and went on to teach in rural elementary schools in Goodman and Laona. As a teacher, she made certain all her students had good handwriting skills. On February 9, 1948, she married Ervin H. Jeske in Iron Mountain, Mich. Following their marriage, the couple settled in rural Oconto Falls where they raised their eight children, teaching them the value of family, a good education, a hard earned dollar, honesty being the best policy and service to country. Judy was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church until it closed and was attending church in Oconto Falls. She was a longtime member of the Audubon Society, the American Bible Society, charter member of the Women in Arbor Society, the American Conservative Union and Young Americans. Judy was also a proud member of the NRA, The Patrick Henry Tea Party and other organizations that promote true American values. She will also be fondly remembered for her love of history, spectacular flower gardens and riding her 4-wheeler on the Jeske Timberlands well into her 80's.
Survivors are her eight children: Kirby (Audrey) Jeske, Stiles Jct., Kathlynn Jeske, Tampa, Fla., Guy (Robin) Jeske, Gwinn, Mich., Gaye (David) Pippins, Lake City, Fla., Bruce Jeske, Stiles Jct., Wade (Tina) Jeske, Oconto Falls, Amy (William) Nichols, Castle Rock, Colo., Linda (Thomas) Witt, Stiles Jct.; 14 grandchildren: Nathan (Nicki) Jeske, Green Bay, Patrick (Michelle) Jeske, Manistique, Mich., Ariana (Christopher) Occhipinti, Sparta, Mich., Karla and Kacey Pippins, Tampa, Fla., James, Jacob and Janna Jeske, Oconto Falls, Stephanie (Matt) Sorenson, Melissa and Carolyn Nichols, all of Castle Rock, Colo., Jarod, Kathryn and Madeline Witt, Stiles Jct.; six great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Andrew and Michael Jeske, Hannah, Riley and Emily Jeske; her faithful golden retriever dog, Bucky, who brightened her and other resident spirits at Sharpe Care by his daily visits; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lois Judy, Peshtigo, Mary Judy, Freemont, Merlin Schnell, Columbia, Mo., Lillian Goddard, Coleman, Joyce and Paul Nesberg, Peshtigo, Walter and Alice Jeske, Green Bay, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin in 1998; five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Oconto Falls United Methodist Church until the time of service. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, at the church, with Pastor Jerry Cho officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
