Jennie “Anne” Beyersdorf, 94, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Harbors Retirement Community. She was born in Menominee on March 30, 1922, to the late Thomas and Theresa (Rancigay) Turk.
Anne attended Menominee Schools and worked at the Boreal Glove Co. for ten years. Anne married Russell Beyersdorf on October 25, 1947 at the former St. William’s Catholic Church in Menominee. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2003. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek. Anne was active in her community serving as a guide for the Menominee Historical Society for more than 20 years. She was also a member of St. Ann Sodality, the Legion of Mary and CFU, a fraternal organization (SLOGA). She loved her Slovenian heritage and especially loved her garden and decorating her yard.
Anne is survived by two sons: Tom (Betsy) Beyersdorf and Joel Beyersdorf, both of Menominee; three grandsons: Brian (Jen )Beyersdorf and children: Evan and Ella of Eagan, Minn.; Tim (Angie )Beyersdorf and children: Zakary and Brent of Folsom, Calif.; and Adam Beyersdorf of Menominee. She is also survived by her brother-in-law. Robert Beyersdorf of Menominee, Mich.; one niece, Janice (David) Jorgensen of Antigo, Wis.; and other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Russell, Anne was preceded in death by her son, Barry Beyersdorf.
Visitation will take place at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Jennie Anne Beyersdorf immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. with Fr. Michael Ocran presiding. A luncheon will follow the mass.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
A memorial fund has been established in Anne’s name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to Tom and Betsy Beyersdorf.
