James A. Dughie, 68, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born in Marinette, Wis. on May 29, 1945, to the late D. Joseph and Mary Kay (Stine) Dughie. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1964 and Michigan Tech in 1968.
Jim worked at Consolidated Power for a short time in the logging industry until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1968; where he trained at the Sandia Base in New Mexico and spent his tour in Germany as a nuclear weapons specialist. He worked for Giddings & Lewis and retired from there.
Jim married Mary Mangan; she preceded him in death in 2007. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church and was known for his passion for gardening and the Green Bay Packers.
Jim is survived by two sisters: Jeanne (William) DeLozenzo of New York City, N.Y. and Margaret (Don) Dughie of Greensboro, N.C; two brothers: John (Theresa) Dughie of Portage, Mich. and William Dughie of Porterfield, Wis; nieces: Amber (Nick) Fabian, Brooke (Joe) Berg; a nephew, Joe Dughie and his niece, Erin Dughie who is studying nuclear physics in the PHD program at the University of New Mexico.
Visitation will take place at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee, on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery
