Isabel L. Paquette, 93 1/2, of Marinette, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on October 4, 1920, to the late Charles and Isabel (Weil) Johnson in Norway.
Isabel came to the United States with her family at age 9 and lived in Milwaukee; where she and her sister, Esther, had their own radio show. On September 19, 1942, Isabel married Clifford Paquette in Milwaukee; he preceded her in death in October of 2002. She had worked at Allis-Chalmers during World War II. She and Clifford purchased a farm in the Town of Grover in 1957 and she had also worked as a cook at the Hotel Menominee. Isabel was a member of First United Methodist Church Marinette, and the Harmony Homemakers Club where she was a former president. The most important thing in Isabel's life was her family and dear friends (especially her grandchildren). She enjoyed to bake, knit, sing, play the organ and was able to play any instrument by ear. Isabel will be remembered as a caring person who always put the needs of others before her own. She also had a quick wit and enjoyed making people smile.
Isabel is survived by a son, Ken (Janice) Paquette of Porterfield; a daughter, Joy (Mike) Hinterberg of Marinette; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Clifford, she was preceded in death by her son, Clifford "Denny"; three sisters: Eleanor, Josephine, and Esther.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 27th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Thielen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m.
