Henry Walter Anderson, 96, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Luther Home. He was born May 6, 1917 in Menominee, Mich. to the late Bartle Helen (Esterholme) Anderson.
Henry joined the United States Army in 1942 and served his country proudly during World War II. On April 8, 1942, he married May Lehmann in Menominee, Mich., and she preceded him in death on February 11, 1979. Henry worked at the Lloyd Company in the maintenance department for many years; he was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1887 of Menominee. Some of the things that he enjoyed doing were bowling, golfing, woodworking and tinkering with anything broken to try and restore it back to life.
Henry is survived by one daughter, Jean Anderson of Peshtigo, Wis.; two sons: Jerome (Sue) Anderson and Michael Anderson, both of Menominee, Mich. 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call to the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue till 3 p.m. with services starting at 3 p.m., the V.F.W. Post 1887 and the 20 year club will be presenting military honors.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Menominee, Mich.
