Glen Roy "Roundy" Hofer, 78, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at BAMC Marinette, Wis. Roundy was born on June 27, 1935, in Menominee to the late William and Alice (Schilawski).
Roundy served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Roundy married the former Alice LaLonde on November 9, 1959. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2000. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menominee and the American Legion Post # 146. Roundy worked at Giddings & Lewis for over 40 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing and going to camp.
Roundy is survived by three sons: Carl (Chris) Hofer, Robert (Kathy) Hofer, both of Menominee, Mich. and Gary (Linda) Uecke of Marinette, Wis.; one daughter, Mary (Tom) Redman of Woodridge, Ill.; ten grandchildren including: Alison (Robert) Wroblewski, Bob Redman, Maggie Redman, Troy (Syndy) Russell, Justin (Jenny) Hofer, Nathan Hofer, Karly Thomsen, Brett Dessart, Gina Hofer and Casey Doyle; three great-grandchildren: Wyatt, William and Libby with two more on the way; two sisters: Eleanor Guise of New Berlin, Wis. and Alice Mae (Louis) Hellermann of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two brothers: Richard Hofer of Marinette, Wis. and Donald (Doris) Hofer of Orange County, Calif.; his special friend, Gloria Martin; his camp buddy, Rod Rynning; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends. Along with his parents and his wife, Roundy was preceded in death by his son, Bill Uecke; one sister, Doris Fessenden and three brothers: William, Fred and Robert Hofer.
Friends may call at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The American Legion will conduct services at 6:20 p.m. followed by services with Rev. Paul Cole. Additional services for Roundy will be held at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of church services. The Rev. Paul Cole will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with the 20 Year Club military honors.
 Roundy's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Paul Cole, Dr. Daroach, Dr. Gamez and Dr. Khayat, the nursing staff on 2nd floor and the ICU staff at BAMC for their wonderful care.
 A memorial fund has been established in Roundy's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to a family member.
