Gary N. "Trapper" Schultz, 68, of Marinette, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at his home. He was born August 9, 1945 at Elkhorn, Wis. to Henry and Myrtle Schultz.
Gary spent his early life on the family farm in the Stratford, Wis. area where he also attended school. He married the former Patricia J. Cline in Edgar, Wis. on April 24, 1965. They resided in the Wausau area before moving to Marinette. Gary was a small engine mechanic, working first in Wausau and then locally at Midway DX and J&D Rental. He later was employed by Waupaca Foundry until his retirement. Gary loved his family and especially his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. Over the years he was a willing helper to many and enjoyed working in his yard with flowers and his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; one daughter, Traci (Mike) Olson of Marinette; six grandchildren: Eric (Emily) Olson, Justin Olson (special friend, Morgan), Melissa Huempfner, Kyle Huempfner, Emma Olson and Briley Olson; many other special children in the Olson home; special nieces and nephews; and canine friend, Copper. Gary was welcomed to Heaven by the open arms of his dear daughter, Jennifer, who passed away in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Kolstad officiating.
Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum.
