Gary F. Kozikowski, 72, of Menominee, Mich. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born in Menominee, Mich. on May 22, 1941 to the late Frank and Emily (Maufort) Kozikowski.
Gary graduated from Menominee High School class of 1959. He married the former Irma Lieberth on September 1, 1962, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Gary was employed with EP Olsen for 10 years and Beyer Machine for two years while owning and operating Kozikowski Well & Pump which was established in 1946 by his father. Gary retired in 2003. Gary enjoyed hunting deer and bear, wood working, gardening, going to hunting camp and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren who he dearly loved. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek. He also was a member of the Menominee-Ingallston Fire Department and an honorary Fire Department member.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Irma Kozikowski; his son, Bryan (Lisa) Kozikowski; his daughter, Lynn (Tim) Thomsen, both of Menominee, Mich.; three grandchildren: Kari Thomsen, Aaron (Kristin Horn) Thomsen, and Lindsay Kozikowski; and one brother-in-law, Herb (Kathy) Lieberth of Menominee, Mich. Gary is further survived by nieces, nephews, his breakfast buddies and all the honorary fire department members at the Menominee-Ingalleston Fire Department.
Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The Menominee-Ingalleston Fire Department Honorary service will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the Vigil prayer service with Fr. Michael O'Cran presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Gary F. Kozikowski on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek, Mich. with Fr. Michael O'Cran presiding.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mich.
A memorial fund has been established in Gary's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to a family member.
