Frieda Margaret Swanson, 100, passed away Thursday, at Newcare Convalescent Center in Crivitz. Born in the Town of Grover to Charles and Mildred (Ada) Bauldry, she was the granddaughter of Josephine Engler, well known photographer and pioneer. 
Born and raised on a farm on Leslie Road in Sugar Bush country, she attended the Homestead School until the late 1920's when her family moved back to the Engler place on the Lake Noquebay outlet (old dam north of CTH W). She then attended Crivitz High School. She married Harry Swanson in 1934 and remained in the Village of Crivitz until June 1944, when they purchased the original Swanson farm, four miles east of Crivitz. Her husband preceded in death in 1986, however, she remained active on the farm until retiring in 2005. She was a founding member of Historical Society, member of Faith Presbyterian Church, and a member of ladies aid. Charter member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. and the Loomis Homemakers group.
The couple had five children: Jerry (Nora) and Jim (Dian) Swanson, both of Crivitz,  Phyllis Plevel of Oak Forest, Ill. and preceded by two daughters: Jacqueline and Carolyn. Other family members include eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Hankus of Blue Island, Ill.  
Friends may call at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Crivitz, Thursday, March 28, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11 a.m. Rev. Richard Marcy officiating.
Burial in the Forest Home Cemetery in Crivitz.
