Frances L. Wood (nee Neargarth)

Frances L. Wood (nee Neargarth), 72, of Crivitz, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. She was born May 7, 1941 to the late Levi and Hulda Neargarth.
Frances graduated from Pembine High School in 1959 and worked at various businesses as a bookkeeper. Fran's true love was her family and she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She found joy in gardening, bird watching, puzzle making and music, yet her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She spent endless hours watching her children and grandchildren in their sports and other activities. She was kind and generous and loved to surprise family and friends with homemade treats. Fran was an active member of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church and also participated in Sarah Circle. Throughout her life she volunteered in many ways, including Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. In recent years, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and greatly enjoyed the adventures she shared with her Red Hat friends.
Fran is survived by her children: Mike (Kim), Port Washington, Lisa (Craig) Cherry, Crivitz, Deb (Jess) Smith, Suring and Tammy (Doug) Schlies, Wausaukee; grandchildren: Bobby (Jessica), Matthew and Andrew Wood, Gary (Renee) Huebner, Stephen (fiancé Olivia) and Danielle (fiancé Dasch Mraz) Cherry, Cody and Kelsey Smith, Douglas Jr., Alicia and Amber Schlies; great-grandchildren: Cadence and Layna Huebner and Emmett Schlies. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret (Wayne) Duris; brothers: Bob (Kay) and Earl (Mary) Neargarth; sister-in-law, Sandy Neargarth and special cousin, Marilyn (Al) Zielinski. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 806 Fritzie Ave., Crivitz. A Memorial Service will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at the church.
