Florence Katherine Hornick, 89, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Menominee Care Center. She was born in Menominee on November 13, 1923, to the late Joseph and Mary (Wendell) Hornick. Florence graduated from Menominee High School class of 1942 and Menominee County Normal. After teaching a few years in Menominee County she was employed as the bookkeeper for A&P Stores in Marinette and later worked in the accounting department at Carpenter Cook Company until her retirement. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Menominee Historical Society, the Menominee Museum and the Golden Rose. In her early years she was an avid bowler and golfer.
 Florence is survived by two brothers: Ray of Menominee and Robert of Marinette; one sister-in-law, Viette Hornick of Marinette; nieces and nephews: Betty Englund, Clarence Beaudo, Ed (Sue) Beaudo, Mike (Kathy) Beaudo, Mary LeMay, Ramona Gardner, all of Menominee, Ken (Barb) Hornick of Oregon, Joanne French of Tuson, Ariz., Gary (Jean) Hornick of Las Vegas, Dawn (Dan) Buss of Peshtigo, Dale (Gail) Hornick, Lori (Larry) Westbrook, John (Jodi) Hornick and Lee (Linda) Hornick, all of Marinette, and many other family members. Along with her parents, Florence was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Beaudo, and three brothers: Leo, Kenneth and Joseph Hornick; one brother-in-law, Joseph Beaudo; four sister-in-laws: Ann, Dorothy, Eunice and Shirley and one nephew, Charles Beaudo.   
 Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, November 3, 2013, from 3 p.m. until the Vigil prayer service at 4 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Florence Hornick on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
 Florence's family would like to give all the staff at Menominee Care Center a heartfelt thank you for all the wonderful loving care they gave her.
