Elvira C. Uecke, 93, formerly of Menominee, Mich. was called by God for her new life celebration on her birthday Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Luther Home. She was born on March 27, 1920, in Marinette, Wis. to the late Herbert and Blanche (Savard) Wickman. Elvira graduated from Marinette High School class of 1938. In 1942 she married Arthur Kienitz. He preceded her in death in June of 1960, she later married Frank F. Uecke on June 26, 1970 in Menominee, Mich. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. She was a homemaker her whole life, a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee, Mich., the VFW Auxiliary, the Ladies Aids, Ladies Mission Society and the Royal Neighbors of America. Elvira enjoyed going on the casino bus for day and overnight trips to different casino's to play bingo, she also enjoyed watching deer, looking at scenery and knitting.
Elvira is survived by one daughter, Carol Kahl of Marinette, Wis.; two sons: Daniel (Marge) Kienitz of Menominee, Mich and Thomas (Linette) Kienitz of Little Suamico, Wis.; seven grandchildren: Bonnie (Roy) Krueger, Kathryn Harris, Keri (Kevin) Paris, Randy Kienitz, Chris Baumler, Kelly (Kevin) Norman, Becky Kahl; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Herbert Wickman.
Family and friends may call to Emmanuel Lutheran Church (2901 13th St., Menominee, Mich.) on Monday April 1, 2013, from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Pastor Doug Schoen will be officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, Mich.
Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home of Menominee, Mich. is assisting the family.
