Elizabeth "Bette" McKenney, 61, of Menominee, Mich., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at home. The former Elizabeth Eaton was born on July 8, 1952, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Martin and Neola (Holmquist) Eaton.
On December 10, 1971, Bette married Richard "Dick" McKenney in Menominee, Mich. Bette worked for Menominee Area Public Schools as a kitchen aide at Blesch Intermediate School for many years where she had a passion for the children and the children loved her. Bette's pride and joy was her family. Her main purpose in life was to support her children and grandchildren in their sporting events and all other extracurricular activities they were involved in. A wonderful woman, Bette will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Dick McKenney of Menominee, Mich.; two sons: Brandon (Danielle) McKenney of Menominee, Mich. and Shawn (Emmy) McKenney of Ramona, Calif.; one daughter, Tara McKenney of Ramona, Calif.; six grandchildren: Marcus, Tyler, Dawson, Caitlin, Samuel and Aidan; three sisters: Karlene (Bob) Webber of Trenary, Mich., Sue Brisson of Trenary, Mich. and Tina (Mike) Hakanen of Chatham, Mich. Bette was preceded in death by her step-father, Eugene Juntenen and sister, Gloria Jasko.
