Eleanor L. LaValley, 95, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at the Harbors Retirement Community. Eleanor Charlotte Lemieux was born on Dec. 20, 1922, in Menominee to the late George and Isabelle (Allgeyer) Lemieux.  
     On Aug. 14, 1948 Eleanor married Samuel J. LaValley at Epiphany Catholic Church. Together they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. Samuel preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2002. Eleanor worked at the Marinette Medical Clinic for over 17 years. She enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, golfing, sewing, playing bridge and was a wonderful cook. Eleanor loved spending time and traveling with her family. Eleanor grew up in the Epiphany Catholic Church where she began singing in the choir at age 16.  She was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include her four children:  Mary (Bob) Lozier of Menominee, Jeanne (Dr. James) Hosler of Arlington, Texas, Dr. Sam (Judy) LaValley of Menominee and Bill (Peggy) LaValley of Saginaw, Texas; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.  Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Wendt; and brother, George Lemieux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the repose of the soul of Eleanor LaValley at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at 11 a.m., with Father Mark McQuesten presiding. No visitation. Family will greet friends and relatives at lunch after Mass. 
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
