Dorothy Beth Hasenfus, 56, passed away at home on Thursday morning, October 3, 2013, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Dottie was born December 31, 1956, in Menominee, Mich. to Herman "Bob" and June Schomaker.
She was a 1975 graduate of Marinette High School. She married Jeffrey Hasenfus on June 16, 1989. She was employed by Ansul for her entire 38-year career. Dottie enjoyed fishing, baking, bowling, was an avid Packer fan. She was also involved in many charitable events. Her greatest joy was spending time with family members and special friends.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Hasenfus; two children: Tony and Courtney; her Mom and Dad: June and Herman "Bob" Schomaker; six brothers and sisters: Mark Schomaker, Terry Jo Schomaker, Pat (Carol) Schomaker, Debbie (Steve) Gamelin, Ken Schomaker and Vicki (Rudy Ray) Schiller; many special nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Steven Schomaker.
Relatives and friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home, 610 Marinette Ave. in Marinette, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013. A Tribute to the Life of Dottie will follow at 6 p.m.
