Dorothy B. Tickler, 80, of Wallace, Mich., passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette. Dorothy was born July 13, 1933 to the late William and Mary (Corcoran) Herson in Ingalls, Mich.
She attended Ingalls and Stephenson Schools graduating in the Class of 1951. On June 21, 1958 she married Donald Tickler in Stephenson. Dorothy was a member of the Church of the Precious Blood. In 1973, Dorothy & Don formed DDT Construction, Inc. presently serving as the company's Vice President. Her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by two children: Shannon (Ronnie) Parrett of Menominee, Mich. and Bart (Brenda Meade) Tickler of Wallace, Mich.; four grandchildren: Zachary, Brooke, Braeden and Tanner; one sister, Dolores Heikkinen; four brothers: Ronald Herson, Darrell "Jerry" (Joannie) Herson, Kenneth (Helen) Herson, Karm "Douglas" (Charlotte) Herson. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her brother, Gordon Herson; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Heikkinen.
Visitation will take place at the Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Dorothy Tickler following the visitation at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Precious Blood, Stephenson, Mich. with Dorothy's cousin, Father Jeffrey Kurtz presiding.
Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
