Doris M. Morois, 91, of Marinette, passed away at Rennes Health Care Center East on Friday, November 8, 2013. She was born September 16, 1922, in Menominee, Mich., to Joe and Mae Kapitz (Kowalski).
Doris attended Menominee High School. She married Harold Nowakowski on June 7, 1941, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Menominee. Harold preceded her in death on March 19, 1960. On June 16, 1962 Doris married Fred Morois at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marinette, Wis. Fred preceded her in death on May 19, 1996. Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Active in St. Joseph Altar Society and the Craft Group, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and at "The Land"/"The Trailer" on the Green Bay shores of Lake Michigan where she loved to clean the beach. Doris was a remarkable woman who could talk with anyone, the neighborhood watch lady. She kept an immaculate house and enjoyed providing for us.
Doris is survived by four children and their spouses: Fran (Gabi) Nowakowski, Bonnie (Jerry, Sr.) Haines, Howie (Kathy) Morois & Mary Morois; six grandchildren: Christine LeClair, Michele Nowakowski, Tim Nowakowski, Kerry (Jim) Semrau, J.J. (Nessa) Haines, Jr., Jake (Blaire) Morois, and their children and grandchildren; four sisters: Mirt Kaufman, Judy (Ralph) Trautner, Delores (Steve) LaPorte, and Dorothy (Gene) Maas; one brother, Tom Kowalski; four surviving sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands she was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers: John, Fran, and Bob Kowalski.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral home, in Marinette, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 6:15 pm. A light meal will follow.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
The family wishes to thank Rennes Health Care Center East staff for the care they provided Doris through the years, for welcoming us when we visited, and for the friendships made with the "weekend coffee group.
