Doreen Ann Lesperance
Doreen Ann Lesperance, 61, of Menominee, Mich. passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis. She was born on March 11, 1952 in Menominee to the late Leonard Spaude and Doris (Beaudo) Spaude.
Doreen graduated from Menominee High School class of 1970. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menominee. Doreen worked at Lloyd-Flanders, the Ansul Co. and she also worked along side her family at the Lauerman Guest House Inn. Doreen enjoyed gardening and she was a very crafty lady, there was not anything she couldn't do. She also enjoyed going to the Menominee Maroon football games with her dad. She was an animal lover and donated her time and talents to the Menominee Animal Shelter. Her greatest joy was her children, devoted to helping them in any way she could. She was a warm, caring and funny person who always had the last word.
Doreen is survived by her daughter, Erin Lesperance and her son, Kevin Larson; her mother, Doris Spaude, all of Menominee, Mich.; her granddaughter, Olivia; three sisters: Sandi (John) Cecco of Green Bay, Wis. Sherry (Steve) Homa of Marinette, Wis., and Wendy (Neil) Kelly of Menominee, Mich.; nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends and her feline buddies, "Sassers" "Chino" and "Sami". Along with her dad, Doreen was preceded in death by a niece, Tiffany.
Funeral services for Doreen will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Menominee. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. Rev. Paul Cole will officiate.
Because of her love for animals, a memorial fund has been established in Doreen's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to the Menominee Animal Shelter or given to a family member.
