Dale P. "Jug" Bundy

Dale Patrick "Jug" Bundy, 73, of Peshtigo/Menominee, passed to his eternal reward at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay on April 29, 2013. Dale was born on August 24, 1939, at home in Peshtigo while the Dr. was in the outhouse and the mid-wife delivered him. He was number six of seven children of Walter and Viola (Deschaine) Bundy.
Dale attended Peshtigo Schools earning his major "P" letter as a freshman in football. He loved to hunt and fish as a youth, spending much time in the woods. Jug worked at Thompson Boat and Hartwig's Gas Station and then at Badger Paper Mills where he worked for 38 years. He operated the crane making all those neat log piles. On June 24, 1967, Dale was united in marriage with Carol Dewane at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menominee, Mich. They celebrated 45 years of marriage last year, in the hospital as Dale was ill. Dale and Carol were blessed with their daughter, Anastasia, on April 8, 1968. The Bundy's started trap shooting in 1972 at the Oconto Gun Club. The couple traveled the United States for 30 years shooting trap, shopping and making new friends. Dale won many trophies throughout his shooting career in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, and South Dakota, his favorite being a doubles trophy from nationals and his high average years in both the Peshtigo and Oconto Gun Clubs. His favorite trophy he didn't win was the Peshtigo Gun Club yearly trophy. He had 49/50, guess who won with a 50/50 hint C.B. He served as president at the Oconto Gun Club when they built the club house. Dale was very proud that on December 7, 1973, he became a member of the Catholic Church being baptized, confirmed and receive First Communion at St. Mary Church in Peshtigo. Dale was blessed with 20 years of life after bypass surgery in 1992. He had the pleasure of knowing his loving and beautiful granddaughter, Senja Francis Bundy.
Dale is survived by, his wife, Carol; daughter, Anastasia Marie Bundy and her fiancé, Farooq; a granddaughter, Senja Francis Bundy. Further survived by three sisters: Shirley Pentony, Rose Marie Schingick and Sandra (David) Weir; a brother, Ron (Jean) Bundy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John (Barrie) Dewane, Gerri (Steve) Acers, Patty (Tim) McNally and Meg Boren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dr. Francis and Mildred Dewane; two sisters: Beverly Beechner and her husband Ron, and Margrete; a sister and brother-in law, Mary and Rod Thein; nephews, Rod Thein, John Schingick, Jake Kaster, Mike Beechner and Gary Pentony; niece, Penny Schingick and a great-niece, Jessica Kanopik.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 3, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 4 p.m. until time of Mass as 6 p.m. with Father John Harper concelebrating and Monsignor John Dewane.
Burial will be Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
