Carole Rydell, 88, passed away on November 1, 2017, at Rennes Health Center East in Peshtigo.Carole was born in Menominee, Mich., on November 22, 1928, to the late Wilbur (Bill) and Wilma (Sis) Toutloff.  
    Carole married Ted Rydell in 1945 and made her life-long home with Ted at their family farm in Pound. They had three children: Ted Jr., William (Bill) and Laurie. Carole was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music, playing the organ, gardening, crocheting, sewing, painting, jewelry design and home decorating.  She was a creative and innovative person whose home reflected her unique style. She enjoyed landscaping the family’s “Triple R Ranch” at the end of the road, turning it into a picture-perfect farm scene worthy of a Country Living magazine article. At her business, “The Hilltop” store and market, Carole sold organic produce, ice cream, candy and gifts to resort customers near White Potato Lake. She also worked selling homes at her good friends Gust and Esther Mursau’s business in Coleman. Carole was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. 
Carole is survived by her husband, Ted Rydell, Sr.; sons: Ted Jr. (Linda) and Bill (Wendy); and daughter, Laurie Techmeier (Stan); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Grace Engel and Pat Nielsen, and many close friends through the years. 
A memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
