Bruce Anthony Brechlin, 67, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., recently of Norway, Mich., died Saturday, December 7, 2013, after a battle with colon cancer at his sister's home. He was born on September 22, 1946, in Eau Claire, a son of the late Fredrick and Eldora (Fleming) Brechlin.
Bruce was raised in Osseo and graduated from Osseo High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy from August 18, 1966 to July 2, 1970, having served as a Riverine on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. In his younger years, he was taught the skills of carpentry by his grandfather, Allert Fleming, and once discharged from the military started his own construction company in California.
Survivors include a sister, Karen Brechlin and her significant other, Jay Pophal of Norway, Mich.; two aunts: Helen Kenney of Cudahy and Ethel Fleming of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his former wife, Nancy (Jones) Wilson of Melbourne Fla.; and cousins.
Burial will take place in the spring in Osseo Cemetery.
