Brenda S. LaGassie, 59, of Marinette, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on Thursday evening, March 9, 2017, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born October 26, 1957, in Steubenville, Ohio.
Brenda spent her early life there and graduated from high school. She came to Menominee/Marinette in 1977 and resided here since that time. Brenda had been employed at KSU for 13 years until illness forced her retirement. She became an angel for victims of lung cancer by offering a loving ear to people around the United States living with the disease. As a devoted and loving mother, her children and family were her main interest and she was known as mom to many more.
Brenda is survived by devoted husband, Donald LaGassie; loving children: Tonya (Larry Cuff), William Treptow Jr. (Heidi Conneher) and Patricia (Robbie Walcher); her extended children: Amanda LaGassie (Shawn Henry) and Andrew LaGassie; adored grandchildren: Kylie and Dakota Cuff, Hayden Treptow, Devin and Sierra Conneher, Ian Treptow, Serenity, Sebastian and Emma Walcher and Braelynn Henry; and brothers: William Cook (Liz Cook) and Robert Cook.
A special thank you to all of her amazing friends that had been lovingly at her side during her journey.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 4 until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Mark Laatsch of Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating.
