Bernice H. Parker, 89, of Marinette, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo. She was born September 23, 1923, in Milwaukee to William and Edna (Lohn) Wagner.
Bernice spent her early life in Milwaukee and married Frank J. Parker in 1940. They moved to Marinette in August of 1962 and together operated the Marinette Sport Shop for many years. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1990. Bernice enjoyed camping with her husband and also spent time crocheting, sewing and reading. She had also been a church organist for several years. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Marinette.
Bernice is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: her daughter, Jean (Jim) Nielson of Marinette; their children, Debbie (Mark) Kornusky and their daughter, Lily Kornusky, Jeff (Stephanie) Nielson and Scott Nielson (friend, Shaina Marcin) and their daughter, Destinee Nielson; her son, Jerry (Linda) Parker of Marinette and their children, Mark (Stacy) Parker and their children, Amie, Garrett and Kaytlyn, Dan (Jessica) Parker and Jesse (Sharla) Parker and children, Justin, Joshua, Bristol, Steven and Laurin. She is further survived by a brother, Raymond (MaryAnn) Wagner of Crivitz. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Greg Nielson.
Friends may call at Grace Community Church in Marinette after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the church with the Rev. Paul Henschel officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
