Arlene A. Demmith, 65, of Marinette, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, April 21, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 12, 1948, to the late Clarence and Erana (Berglin) Mier Sr. in Green Bay.
Arlene attended school in Milwaukee and on September 4, 1965, Arlene married DuWayne R. Demmith Sr. He preceded her in death in 1991. In 1972, the family
moved to the area. She had worked Pat and Rayleen's as a cook for a number of years and for Emerson Electric for five years retiring in 2003. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially pinochle.
Arlene is survived by a son, DuWayne (Donna) Demmith Jr. of Green Bay; two daughters: Christine (Steven) St. Vincent of Menominee and Cynthia Olson of Marinette; three brothers: Clarence Mier Jr., Francis (Pam) Mier and Jack (Melissa) Mier; seven sisters: Judy Mattie, Lucy Honsvick, Nancy (David) Demmith, Jean (Ken) Gearu, Genevieve Arnold, Sallie (Harvey) Jones and Patty (Johnny) Roby; nine grandchildren: Jessica (Chris) Demmith-Wallace, Amanda (John) Demmith-Whitcomb, DuWayne (Samantha) Demmith III, Jeffrey Demmith, Kurt Beyer, Gregory Block Jr. Katie Olson, Kevin Block, and Jared Olson; ten great-grandchildren; many brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Vi Thull family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee on Wednesday, April 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. with Rev. Douglas Schoen officiating.
Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Coleman.
