Allan J. Kamps, 54, of Marinette, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, in Minnesota. He was born September 21, 1958, in Marinette to Leon and Marlyn (Rouse) Kamps.
He resided in Marinette all of his life and was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1977. Allan was an outstanding athlete and played all sports in high school. He had been employed at Waupaca Foundry in Marinette for over 30 years. On May 20, 1989, he married the former Jackie Koch in Gaylord, Minn. He was an avid softball player and also enjoyed golfing and motorcycle riding. Allan was an especially devoted "Pappa" to his grandson, Brodey, who was the light of his life.
Allan is survived by his wife, Jackie; one daughter, Sara (Phil) Milazzo of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons: Brodey and Dominic; a sister, Lynn Seils; a brother, David Kamps; and other relatives and friends in the Koch family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home, in Marinette, from 4 p.m until 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening.
