Adaline (Ehlke) Schimke, 98, Crivitz, formerly of New London, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born on March 19, 1915, in Caledonia Township (Waupaca County), daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Schneider) Ehlke.
Adaline attended the Yellow Stone Trail School in Readfield. After graduating she worked at Jung's General Merchandise and Kalbu's General Merchandise Store, Readfield. She was a member of the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Readfield where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was married on May 15, 1937, to Raymond C. Schimke. He preceded her in death in 1992. They resided in New London for all their married years except for a few years when Raymond was transferred to Borden's in Columbus, Wis. for his job. They were members of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London; where Adaline was involved in the Ladies Aid and a past District Secretary of the Ladies Aid. In 2005 Adaline moved to Crivitz to be near to her family. Her new home was New Care Residence, Crivitz, where she spent seven happy years with excellent care and made many friends.
Adaline is survived by a daughter, Marlene Manderfield, Crivitz; granddaughter, Marianne (Rick) Ricciardi; Sheboygan Falls and a son in-law, Michael Marshment. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren: Christina Klesseg, Paul Manderfield and Matthew Marshment, nieces and nephews: James (Sharon) Ehlke; Jerry (Joanne) Kuppernus; Paul (Amy) Meshke; Daniel Meshke and Bona Jordan and her husband, Don Nelson; special friend and niece, Marsha (Keith) Griesbach and also other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law, Walter (Esther) Ehlke, sister and brother-in-law, Caroline (David) Meshke preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Adaline will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of service.
Burial will be in the Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Readfield.
