Trees on 1st Street are being replaced

MENOMINEE — According to Menominee City Manager Tony Graff, city crews starting working Monday to remove streetscape trees on 1st Street as part of the new design and repairs in the downtown area around the trees.

All the trees will be replaced and new tree grates will be installed, Graff said, indicating there is an example of the tree grate in front of Elegant Ewe, 400 1st St., which has been on display for eight weeks.

Graff said the project has been discussed over the last three months and the city has been working with the Menominee Downtown Business Association and the Downtown Development Authority.

Marinette City Hall to close for one hour

MARINETTE — The Marinette City Hall, 1905 Hall Ave., and supporting departments will be closed for one hour on Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in order to allow city employees to attend the Menekaunee Harbor & Boat Launch dedication ceremony. 

The dedication ceremony will be held at 828 Ogden St. in Marinette. 

Possible quorum of City Council may convene

MARINETTE — A possible quorum of the Marinette City Council and/or city standing committees may be present during the Cabela’s National Walleye Tournament Banquet Meeting at Marinette High School Commons & Gymnasium, 2135 Pierce Avenue, in Marinette today.

A quorum of the council and/or standing committees may also be present during the Menekaunee Harbor Park and Boat Launch Dedication Ceremony at 828 Ogden Street, in Marinette on Wednesday.
