  • Local barber is first Yooper on state board

    MENOMINEE — Pete Dellisse, a local barber and co-owner of The Clip Joint, was recently appointed to the Michigan Board of Barber Examiners by Gov. Rick Snyder. The board regulates the service of barbers, barber students, barber colleges and instructors in the state of Michigan, and Dellisse is the first Yooper ever appointed to the board. “As far as I know the U.P. hasn’t been represented (on the board) in a long time, if ever,” he said. “There’s not that many barbers left in the U.P., but we still need a voice up here.”
