Caryn Marie Sawaski of Menominee, MI and James Patrick Dam of Freeland, MI., were united in marriage on September 26, 2009. Caryn is the daughter of Pamela and Michael Sawaski of Menominee, MI and James is the son of Bonita and Peter Dam of Midland, MI.
The 3 o'clock double ring ceremony took place at Garland Resort in Gaylord, MI. Rev. Dr. Mike DeRuyter officiated. The ceremony was held outside in a grassy - wooded area with a floral decorated arbor. The flowers were a mix of Gerber daisies, roses and orchids, along with ivy. The weather was a beautiful still, peaceful day with a light mist starting just after the ceremony.
Maid of Honor was Heather Sawaski, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Gooding, friend of the bride, Kelly Maniko and Kristen Dam, both sisters of the groom. Flower girl was Makayla Maniko, niece of the groom. Jason Larson, friend of the groom was Best Man. Attendants were Joe Cronkright, Matt Liphard and Chris Corbat. The ring bearer was Jackson Larson, son of the best man. Reader was Jodi Dam, cousin of the groom. Pianist was Jeffrey Maniko. Ushers were Robert Sawaski, brother of the bride, and Brian Maniko, brother-in-law of the groom.
The reception was held at the Garland Resort in Gaylord, MI. The rehearsal dinner was held at Garland Resort in the groom's family villa. A bridal shower was hosted by the bride's sister and maid of honor, Heather Sawaski in Freeland, MI and another shower was hosted by the groom's mother in Midland, MI.
Caryn graduated from Menominee High School in 2001, She graduated in 2009 from Central Michigan College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She majored in Marketing. She is currently employed with Dow Chemical in the Human Resource Department.
James graduated in 1999 from Dow High School in Midland, MI. He also graduated from Central Michigan in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently employed with Dow Chemical Corp. as an Engineer.
